While South Africa is still gripped by the shocking death of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, a video of inkabi shooting at him has emerged online. The CCTV video is from the restaurant where AKA was killed at.
The video shows AKA embracing a friend outside the Wish restaurant. Just after he let the man go, a speeding inkabi shot at him point-blank on his head and ran away.
AKA dropped on the ground and died instantly.
Other people he was standing with are seen in the video running for cover.
AKA was murdered on Friday 10 February in Durban before his birthday celebration performance at the Yugo nightclub.
KZN Police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the shooting.
“Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating two counts of murder following the murder of two men who are aged 34 and 35 years old. The two were fatally wounded on Florida Road in Morningside, Durban just after 10pm on Friday night, 10 February 2023.

“Information at police’s disposal at this stage indicates that the men were walking towards their vehicle from a restaurant when they were allegedly approached by two armed suspects who walked to them from across the street and shot the victims at close range. The suspects are reported to have fled from the scene on foot.
“Both victims were declared dead at the scene. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage and police investigations are ongoing,” Netshiunda said.
