Police are investigationg a case of murder after a body was found in a pool of water in Drifsands had several injuries. Ezitshisayo reported about an incident where a body was found opposite a church along Old Faure Road on 18 March.Body discovered in front of a church
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi confirmed the incident. He said the body was found with several injuries.
“Mfuleni police attended a complaint on Saturday 18 March 2023 on ”Old Faure Road”. Upon arrival, they found the body of unknown person in a pool of water. The SAPS Provincial divers was called to retrieve the body that sustained multiple injuries. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. The unknown suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested. Mfuleni police are investigating a murder,” he said.

The church leader that is just opposite where the body was found said they were called by a passerby who showed them the body. “He was passing and told us to check in the pool of water. We were shocked but luckily a police van came by and we showed them. They attended to the matter and the body was taken away,” said the church leader.
Though they slept at the church they never heard any noises at night. They suspect that the man was just dumped after he was already dead.
