Crossroads has now turned into a warzone as several people are being shot on the streets. Last night, 17 January two men were shot and killed on Sonwabile Road in Old Crossroads.
According to police, two men were standing outside their vehicles when they were ambushed and shot. In the afternoon, another man was found dead in front of Nelson Mandela High School.
Residents in the area allege that the man was killed in Nyanga and dumped in front of the school since its close to his home. On Friday 13 January, three people were shot and killed in Crossroads. One was shot near Imbasa Primary School and the other two in Unathi area, about two kilometres away.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie confirmed the latest incident.
“Nyanga Police is probing the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident last night on the corner of Sonwabile and Masiphathisane Streets in Cross Roads, Nyanga that claimed the lives of two men, aged 44 and 33.
“Preliminary information reveals that the pair was standing outside one of their vehicles when they were accosted by unknown gunmen who fired several shots at them, hitting both multiple times in their upper bodies. They succumbed to the injuries sustained on the scene. The unknown gunmen fled on foot,” he said.
Pojie said no arrest has been made yet. “We appeal to anyone with information to please contact the investigating officer or crime Stop at 08600 10111,” he added.
