Police in Khayelitsha are investigating a double murder case after three people were shot in QQ block in Site B on Monday 13 March 2023. The third person, a man survived and managed to escape the shooting with serious injuries.
It is alleged that the gunmen arrived and shot at a man and a woman before disappearing into darkness around. Ezitshisayo source said she heard several gunshots and heard people screaming just after the shooting.
According to SAPS spokesman Sergeant Wesley Twigg, police were called at the QQ block around 8pm.
“Khayelitsha police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident which left a 32 year old female, a 28 year old male with fatal gunshot wounds and a unknown male wounded in QQ Block, Site B, Khayelitsha on Monday evening.
“Police attended the crime scene where they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies. The male and female victims were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The unknown man was taken to a medical facility for treatment. The motive for the attack is yet to be determined,” said Twigg.
Police said they are still investigating the matter and no arrests made so far. Twigg said they are urging anyone with any information about this shooting incident to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
