South African top rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes has been shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Durban last night.
The incident happened at around 10 pm on Friday 10 February.
It is alleged that AKA was standing on the pavement at a popular Durban restaurant when he was shot.
Another unknown man was also killed during the shooting incident.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said they responded to a shooting at a certain restaurant around 10:15.
They found two men critically injured with several bullet wounds on their bodies.
AKA was supposed to perform at a Durban Yugo nightclub as part of his birthday celebrations.
Police spokesman Robert Netshiunda confirmed that a famous musician was shot alongside another man.
AKA who was now dating Nadia Nakai lost his girlfriend Anele Tembe who fell from the balcony of a hotel in April 2021.
