Police in Cape Town said they have not made any arrests in connection with the murder of Oshwin Andries who was stabbed last weekend in Klapmuts.
Oshwin was stabbed on the 29th of January at a tavern in Klapmuts where he was having fun with his friends.
Police spokesman Captain Frederick Van Wyk said the stabbing incident was not reported to the police.
“This office confirms the death of a 19-year-old man on Saturday 04 February 2023 at 21:40 at a hospital in Paarl. The deceased was taken to the hospital by a family member on the mentioned date.
“An Inquest docket is currently opened and under investigation. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” said Van Wyk.
Social media was awash with reports that Oshwin was stabbed and killed on 04 February. However Van Wyk has clarified what transpired.

“According to information received from family on Saturday they mentioned that the deceased was stabbed on Sunday 29 January 2023 in Klapmuts. He was then (the victim) taken to a nearby hospital and received treatment for a stab wound to his head and back.
“He was discharged on Monday after receiving treatment from hospital. Circumstances surrounding this stabbing incident are under investigation. No case was reported for the stabbing incident by the victim. No arrest has been made as yet,” he said.
