A man from Cradock in the Eastern Cape who was hiding drugs inside yoghurt ran out of his luck on Sunday. This is after police caught him red-handed with lots of drugs inside containers filled with yoghurt.
Police spokesman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the man was arrested by the Cradock K9 and Highway Patrol members. Police were tipped off by members of the public about a man in possession of drugs using N10 highway.
“Members spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect busy hitchhiking on the N10 near Cradock.
A suspicious man was accosted and a request for a routine search was done. It is alleged that the illicit drugs were found stashed/dipped in several yoghurt containers and concealed with foil. Drugs valued around R12 400 were seized and cash was also found in his possession,” said Mdleleni(40).
Mdleleni added that a 40-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear before Cradock Magistrates’ Court on Monday 03 April 2023 on charges of dealing drugs.
