Motorists in Pietermaritzburg motorists were shocked when a motor vehicle burst into flames on Wednesday 08 February in the morning.
The driver managed to get out of the burning car which continued to move on its own and crashed at a filling station.
The incident happened while there was a traffic jam in Pietermaritzburg CBD.
The incident happened at the intersections of Alexandra and Richmond roads.
Pedestrians and motorists alike are seen in the video fleeing for safety.
Fortunately, the fire did not destroy the filling station as it was extinguished successfully.
The video was widely shared on social media with many people expressing their shock.
