Three people died and several others injured in bus accident that happened in Cape Town today Monday 25 September. A Golden Arrow bus en route to Cape Town from Mitchells Plain crashed leading to the death of three people living others heavily injured.
A video has emerged that captured the moment the bus was ‘flying’ and rolling during the accident. It is not clear what led to the accident but the Cape Town roads were wet due to heavy rains that have been pouring for the last 24 hours.
Megan Davids, the spokesperson for the Western Cape province’s Emergency Medical Services, confirmed the devastating incident. “EMS received a call on 25 September following a bus accident on Jakes Gerwel. At the scene, we can confirm 38 passengers with 26 injuries and 9 passengers who left prior to transportation,” said Davids.
Following the incident, the City of Cape Town’s Traffic department spokesperson, Kevin Jacobs, announced the closure of Jakes Gerwel, Klipfontein, and Turfhall roads. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes to minimize disruptions.

The City of Cape Town together with the Western Cape government have warned residents against travelling due to bad weather. Besides accidents, two people have also died from the floods that has hit the province.
