WATCH: Dog found eating inyawo lomntu

Two people, a husband and wife died in a shack fire on Saturday night in Winnie Madikizela informal settlement in Delft. The body was fetched by Western Cape’s Forensic Pathology team on Sunday morning. However, it appears a burnt foot of one of the deceased was left under the debris.

Today 10 April, residents woke to the shock of their life when they saw a dog eating a burnt human feet. The person who saw the dog went to inform other residents but when they returned, the dog had disappeared with the foot.

Residents searched for the dog but it was nowhere to be found. It was only later when a young boy who was walking to the shop saw the dog again while it was still carrying the feet.

“It has eaten the larger part of the leg but the burnt toes and the other part of the feet was still there. We chased the dog and put the remains inside a plastic bag. We are shocked, we don’t know how the piece of the leg was left behind when the body was taken on Sunday,” said resident Nosicelo Tshali.

When Ezitshisayo arrived at the scene residents were busy picking up some few bones of the deceased that fell from the feet when the dog was running away. The family of the deceased were called to the scene and they also expressed shock that the remains of their loved ones was being eaten by a dog.

When Ezitshisayo left the scene, residents were still waiting for the Forensic Pathology and police to arrive. Residents said with what the dog has done, they are going to kill it. “It cannot be that this dog lives with us after eating a human being,” said one resident.
