Police are looking for Mihle Mngambi also known as Nzaba in connection with the murder of a police officer in Samora Machel in September.
On 08 September, Sergeant Sithembiso Mnatwana was shot with 22 bullets outside his home. The incident happened Hintsa Khaphalo street on his way from work.
He was on a night shift at Cape Town Central SAPS where he attached at the time of his death.
Hawks spokeswoman Zinzi Hani said their investigations connect Nzaba to the murder.
Hani said at about 06:50 on the day of the incident, members of Samora Machel SAPS received information the shooting. On arrival they an African male lying on his stomach with bullet wounds on his head and his upper body.
“On further investigation, the members found that the deceased was a member of the police and that he still had his uniform on, but was wearing a black and white top over his uniform. The deceased was later identified as Sergeant Sithembiso Mnatwana stationed at Cape Town Central Vispol. The member came from duty and did not have any firearm with him when he was killed,” said Hani.
Hani added: ”Preliminary investigation revealed that Mihle Nzaba can assist the police in their investigation. Anyone with information of his whereabouts is requested to contact Sergeant Christopher Mitchell Botha on 082 850 9754.”
