Police have arrested three men following the death of a 29-year-old man from Strand. This after the body was found in a pool of blood with with head injuries and stab wounds all over.
The gruesome discovery was made on corner Thukumbela and Vulindlela Road, Greenfield. Officer quickly begin with an investigation. They were informed that the man had an argument with four men who then dragged and attacked him.
Narrating the incident, police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk said a passerby showed officers the body.
“Lwandle Police were informed of the body by a passer-by and they immediately proceeded to the crime scene. On their arrival, members found a body of a man lying down in pool of blood at the corner of Thukumbela and Vulindlela Road, Greenfield. The man had head injuries and stab wounds on the body,” he said.
Officers didn’t waste time as they investigated the incident right away. They searched for the suspects around the vicinity since the crime had just been committed few minutes earlier.
“The members followed up on the information received of the four suspects who had an argument with the victim, apparently assaulted him with bricks and then stabbed him with knifes. Three suspects aged between 20 and 22 were arrested at different addresses. They will all appear in the Strand Magistrate court soon after being charged accordingly. Police are continuing the search for another accomplice who is still at large,” said Van Wyk.
