Police in Delft have arrested a man with 20 bank cards at a roadblock on Sunday 10 March. The man failed to explain or provide documentation that proves that the items belonged to him, leading to his arrest.
Besides the bank cards, the suspect was found to be in possession of eight cellphones, six sim cards, and an undisclosed amount of cash. He failed to provide documentation for these items, leading to suspicions of theft. As a result, the individual was apprehended for possession of stolen property. He is slated to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court pending formal charges.
Meanwhile, in George, a separate police operation unfolded based on actionable intelligence regarding narcotics. On Saturday, March 9th, authorities raided a premises situated in George Moore Street, Conville. Upon search, law enforcement seized a substantial quantity of illicit substances, including 1971 mandrax tablets and crystal meth, along with 30 rounds of ammunition. The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs is reported to be approximately R99,800.
The suspect, a 46-year-old male, was promptly taken into custody. He now faces charges related to drug possession and illegal possession of ammunition.
