COSAT learner Athenkosi Khonzani has scooped 7 distinctions and become one of the top learners awarded by the minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga on Thursday 19 January 2023.
On Friday, learners from Cosat took to the streets celebrating Athenkosi for his achievement. Both teachers and learners weere singing and dancing in celebration of Athenkosi’s achievement.
Learners and teachers had to go to fetch Athenkosi’s home where they fetched him and drove to the school premises to get his results.
His class teacher Aroma Nqabeni said she is over the moon as her student didnt disappoint. “He has been in my class for the past three years and I know that he is a star and he has proved himself,” she said.
The parents of the body said they are happy that there child has made them proud. They said, when their child was invited in Gauteng they had to sleep in Sandton in a hot something which they have not done in their lives.
“It was because of Athenkosi, we slept in hotels and conforfortable places because of him. We are grateful and we are just praying that he remains himself even in future,” the mother said.
Athenkosi said his success because of his teachers and he will be forever grateful.
