Kaizer Chiefs FC has launched its own potato chips brand named Kaizer Chips which has already hit the market. The launch that happened today has already set fire on social media with people expressing different feelings.
Introducing its new product on Twitter, Chiefs said it was “taking the essence of passion from the football pitch to the palate” by bringing the snack on the market. For a long time, the club’s opponents supporters have used “Kaizer Chips” as a way ridicule the team when they lose a match.
“I never knew Kaizer Chiefs will use this joke to make money. I’m defeated,” said one Twitter user Bukowski.
Another Twitter user Tinyiko MkhuluBae thinks the move by Chiefs is plausible. “That’s what they are good at. Since they are not good on the pitch let them convert into a supermarket and stay away from football,” he said. https://x.com/tinyikobaloyi/status/1708829204156965210?s=20
Kaizer Chiefs FC supporter Ntsika Ndlovu believes that his team is losing focus. “It’s all about the Brand from my team… If check that’s the only thing they work on perfecting. I just wish we were as passionate about what happens on the field. It seems like football comes last on the Kaizer Chiefs’ Priority list at times. We gotta start winning guys,” he says.
The chips that have already hit the market have different flavours including salt and vinegar, tomato, grilled steak flavour among others.
