A Cape Town businessman appeared in Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 24 January on charges of assault.
A video of the man beating up his wife on their bed in the presence of their child has gone viral.
The child is seen in the video trying to protect her mother as the father continues to beat her up.
Allegedly the man was once arrested for assault in 2018 but he was released on bail. The previous assault was also captured on the CCTV in the couple’s bedroom.
The video of the attack was posted by AfriForum that is representing the woman.
