Three men have been shot and killed earlier today in Mandalay,Cape Town sending shockwaves through the community. The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 12th, 2024, when gunmen ambushed the deceased at a residence on Dickens Drive, unleashing a barrage of gunfire upon them. The incident happened around 3am.
According to police spokesman Colonel André Traut, the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime unit detectives swiftly responded to the scene. They discovered the lifeless bodies of the three men on arrival. Colonel Traut revealed that unknown gunmen targeted the men, aged between 20 and 24, before fleeing the scene on foot. The motive behind this triple homicide remains unclear, leaving investigators to piece together the events leading up to the tragic loss of life.
As authorities delve into the circumstances surrounding both incidents, a public appeal for information has been issued. Community member from Mandalay told Ezitshisayo that they heard several gunshots around 3am. “We didn’t know what was going on and we couldn’t go out at that moment since it was dangerous to do so. We only went out after cops arrived over 30 minutes later. It’s shocking, the bodies of the boys were scattered at the yard of the house,” said community member Xolani Molose(34).
