A woman who dumped newly born baby at Gugulethu Cemetery died apparently from the complications emanating from the birth of the baby. She was buried on Saturday 03 February after she got sick for a few days after giving birth.
A community leader from KTC area told Ezitshisayo that the mother of the child was found a few days later after she dumped the baby. She was not in good health at the time residents discovered that she is the one who the dumped baby.
“It appears the woman was sick for a few days but decided not to come clean about what she did. She only came clean when she realised that her sickness was getting out of control, but it was too late. She confessed what had happened and she was rushed to the hospital, but she died. It is strange because she is not a young girl but someone in his early 30s,” the community leader said.
