Cape Town doctor (24) stabbed at his home
A Cape Town vet doctor was murdered at his house.

Dr Natheem Jacobs, a veterinary doctor from Athlone allegedly woke up to some noises outside his house in Athlone earlier today. The incident happened on Lady May street in Athlone.

When he went out to check, he allegedly saw men who were trying to remove the wheels of his car. When the thieves saw Jacobs, they stabbed him and flee into the darkness. There was a load shedding at the time of the incident.

Jacobs was working with the Cape of Good Hope SPCA at the time of his death. The SPCA CEO Mqabuko Moyo Ndukwana said he is heartbroken by the untimely death of Jacobs. He described him as an “animal hero”.

Police spokesman Captain Frederick Van Wyk confirmed the incident.

He said they are investigating the incident that led to the death of a 24-year-old doctor. He said the incident happened just after 12 earlier today.

“Circumstances surrounding the death of a 24-year-old man, who was stabbed at a premises in Lady May Street, Garlandale, Athlone on 2023-03-02 at about 00:12 are under investigation. A murder case was opened for investigation.

“According to reports the deceased was stabbed with a knife and was transported to a nearby medical facility for medical assistance where he succumbed due to extent of injuries he had sustained on arrival at the hospital,” said Van Wyk.
