Residents from KTC in Gugulethu are shocked after a woman was shot coming from buying bread earlier today Sunday 04 August 2024. The woman who is in her early 20s was walking back home from a nearby spaza shop in KTC when the incident happened.
It is alleged that two men stopped a Toyota Avanza and crossed the road and shot at her. “They just shot at her and went back into the vehicle and ran away. It is not clear what could have been the cause,” said resident who lives close to the house.
A community leader in the area Lumkile Msila said he went to the house after he heard about the shooting. “Nobody really knows what happened, we are still shocked and looking for answers. I also he was short while on her way from the shop to by bread,” he said.
Many residents didn’t want to speak as they feared for their lives. “It is dangerous to speak because you don’t know whom you are speaking to. We are terrified by the incident, and we fear every amaphela that is passing by the road. We are traumatized by what happened to this lady,” said a woman who lives close to the house of the deceased.
