A naked body of Sinesipho Ncwadi was found inside a locked shack on New Year’s day.

Sinesipho’s uncle, John Ncwadi, expressed relief that the accused is now in custody. “We were unhappy when he was free and walking the streets, but we are relieved he’s behind bars now. We want the law to take its course,” he said. John also welcomed Sicamba’s decision to abandon bail, ensuring he remains in custody until the next court date.

Sicamba’s arrest happened during a routine police patrol. Barrydale SAPS officers spotted him acting suspiciously while walking on the street on Tuesday, 21 January 2025. After stopping and questioning him, he admitted to being a wanted suspect in a Milnerton case of murder and rape. The officers confirmed this with Milnerton SAPS detectives and arrested him on the spot.

Sinesipho’s cousin, Mandisa Ncwadi, shared what happened on the day of her death. He said they had hired a car to get home, but it left them behind. Sinesipho became upset and started crying as she worried about how they would get back.

A taxi stopped in front of them with five women and a driver inside. The passengers asked why Sinesipho was crying, and Mandisa explained the situation. However, they thought Sinesipho might be in trouble, so they insisted on taking her home since they were also heading to Du Noon.

Mandisa stayed behind with other friends, and that was the last time he saw Sinesipho alive. Later that same day, she was found dead in a locked shack.
