Sekhukune United coach Peter Hyballa resigned after joining the Premier Soccer League side just five weeks ago.
It is alleged that the coach was filmed while having tlof tlof at a Johannesburg brothel.
The video was allegedly being used to extort money from him and the club. The club announced the decision of the coach on Saturday 10 August. The club announced the developments after the match which they were defeated by Cape Town City at Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane.
It was after his departure when the allegations of tlof tlof video came to light. The video was allegedly also sent to the Sekhukhune United chairperson Simon Malatji. A source that spoke to Ezitshisayo said those who had the video send it to Malatji demanding money. “The extortionist threatened to leak the video to social media to embarrass the club if they are not paid the money. It is not clear how much they wanted,” said the source.
The club issued a statement confirming the departure of the 48-year-old German coach. “The coach has just submitted the letter of resignation, citing pressing matters of personal nature. The club has accepted this letter and wishes him well in his future endevours,” said the statement.
The coach’s departure was a blessing to some players and other members of the management. It is alleged that his coaching style was already rubbing some players the wrong way. It is alleged that some players felt that the manner he shouted at them was abusive.
It is alleged that he mocked the manner one of the players runs and labelled one of the players “lazy”. According to FARpost, top analysist Tinashe Shingai Mukandamasta left the club after clashing with the coach. It is alleged Hyballa “loved picking up fights” with the backroom staff.
Hyballa is not new to controversy as he was accused of taking pictures of undressed players at Esbjerg fB.
