A Du Noon woman stabs boyfriend with a broken bottle in a jealous rage. The incident happened on Sunday 02 February 2025 in the morning in Xuka Street, Witsand, Atlantis in Cape Town.
Residents from the street told Ezitshisayo that the woman had came over for a weekend. “She arrived on Friday and was supposed to spend the weekend as she normally does. However, the boyfriend received a call from another woman while she was present on Saturday morning,” said one resident.
The couple argued but resolved the matter. The boyfriend went to work since he was working on night shift. The woman left behind and started drinking booze all night as slept early in the morning. She woke up after the boyfriend came back from the night shift.
“The argument over the same matter resumed and this time it was heated because the girlfriend was drunk. She started yelling at him saying he was a cheater, and he had another girlfriend. The woman started breaking cups, plates, radios, TVs and even a microwave,” said an eyewitness.
The boyfriend who was standing outside shirtless went inside as he wanted to stop his girlfriend but that was a bad idea.
“The girlfriend then closed the burglar doors and locked the boyfriend inside and stabbed him with a broken bottle on his nose. His rib area was cut open and he was bleeding. We had to rush him to the hospital. We couldn’t wait for an ambulance because he would have lost too much blood,” said a resident.
Police spokesman Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed the incident that the victim opened a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm case against the girlfriend.
