Mfuleni residents have demolished the shack belonging to the man who allegedly raped and murdered a cop on Sunday 01 October. A 29-year-old cop was allegedly raped and killed after she had visited the place with her friend.
Her body undressed was found on the streets of Malgas Squatter Camp in Extension 4 in Mfuleni early in the morning. Residents told Ezitshisayo that after the man was arrested they decided to demolish his shack.
“We don’t want to see him around our area ever again. Women are not safe around him, he is a dangerous man. Even if he is to be released on bail, we cannot afford to see him walking on our streets after what he did,” one resident said.

Another resident said as community they agreed that the 30-year-old suspect is a dangerous man.
“A person who doesn’t even think that the person he attacked is a police officer. Do you think he thinks twice to do the same to a woman who is just a nobody? The best solution was to demolish his shack because we know for a fact that he did. The clothes of the murdered officer were found inside his shack including her underwear,” said another community leader.

The death of the officer came on Sunday morning after another officer was killed in Gugulethu on Saturday night. Warrant Officer Lindela Mraqisa who was a bodyguard of deputy minister of police Cassel Mathale was killed while sitting inside his car with friends. Five people were shot and killed during the attack.
Minister of Police Bheki Cele together with Mathale are expected to visit the homes of the slain officers. National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola will accompany Cele and Mathale when they visit the families later today.
