A body of a young woman was found covered in mud in Bloekombos, Kraaifontein on Sunday 07 July morning. The woman, who is believed to be a teenager was naked.
The gruesome incident has left residents shocked and others asking for answers. “Who could have done this to this little girl? It takes a heartless person to do this to another human being,” said Lindile Buwa a resident from the area.
The body of the girl was found by a group of people who were going to church near the Mareola new housing development.
Another resident who was at the scene said the girl had a swollen face but they could not see whether she had any open wounds since she was covered by mud.
Police spokesman Captain Frederick Van Wyk said Kraaifontein police are busy investigating the incident.
“Kraaifontein police responded to a complaint on Sunday, 2024-07-07. Upon arrival at the crime scene in Bloekombos they found the body of a female who sustained fatal injuries.
“The victim was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. The suspect fled the scene and is yet to be arrested. Kraaifontein police are investigating a murder,” said Van Wyk.
